I was arrested on September 15, 2015, for the first time at age 60, for trying to help my 22 year old daughter up from the street in front of our home, where she had fallen while running down our driveway heavily sedated on multiple pain killers prescribed after her second back surgery in the last year. After the police spoke with her at length, she agreed with them that she feared for her life. I would never hurt my daughter under any circumstances. I had no idea that painkillers were the cause behind everything she was doing and thinking. Her encouragement that fearing for her life was my reason for being arrested. It was the most traumatic experience I have ever had. Although I was out of jail in less than 24 hours, thanks to Ryan Deck, it changed my perspective of our police force and legal system. How could I end up in jail when I had never touched my daughter, other than to try and help her up from an accidental fall?
